If someone told me at 23 when I sheepishly ventured into the music industry without any prior industry experience that within a few years I would market a talented producer, create a YouTube channel that would gain millions of views, grow a fanbase across the world, build a successful beat store, impact the culture, end up meeting and working with some of my favourite artists, and along the way a few of these songs get certified diamond and platinum, after all of that I would start a successful chapter transitioning into an artist manager.
If also you told me all of this could be achieved with a laptop from my bedroom I would have laughed and sarcastically replied “Sure” but all of this did happen and I’m just getting started.
I’ve been in the music industry for 9+ years now, there was a lot of trial and error and a lot of learning on the job and in those years I have picked up a few valuable skills:
I’ve become highly experienced in artist development, organising and executing campaigns with in-depth market research, and strategic implementation
I’ve gained a strong knowledge of how to use paid online advertising such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok ads to gain brand exposure, sell a new product, and how to reach a new audience, etc
I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, someone who's able to converse, motivate and aid those around me
Up to date with cultural trends and consumption patterns, I have a great perspective on how to reach people the right way
Experienced in day-to-day artist management from planning projects and orchestrating releases, while also providing technical and critical creative feedback
